In 2009 I bought myself a decent metal detector for Christmas. One of the first places I went to hunt was a park where Confederate Soldiers had reunions after the Civil War for several years in this area. I found an 1854 quarter and I have been hooked since.
​
For the first couple of years I mostly hunted city parks and school yards and I would find the occasional silver coin. While hunting a city park, in a small town not far from where I live, I met a guy from FT Worth who was working in this area. He had metal detected for several years. He asked if he could join us hunting the park. He started telling me about hunting private property, I call it door knocking, some call it permissions. Even though I was an outside salesman, I couldn’t imagine asking a home owner to hunt (dig) in their front yard. After thinking about this for several weeks I finally asked a home owner to hunt their front yard. That was about 4 years ago. Since then I have door knocked in almost every town in a 100 mile radius of where I live and my silver count had increased a lot.

I enjoy this great hobby of metal detecting so much I became a metal detector dealer to help others get involved in this great hobby.
